Instinct and Meta's Muse Launch Phone Calling Features

Instinct has announced its new Concierge feature, which includes the ability to make phone calls, as revealed by founder Noah Shinn on September 16, 2026. This feature aims to provide a high-touch service for tasks such as booking high-end services and handling complex requests. Instinct, based in San Francisco, recently raised $350 million, bringing its valuation to $10 billion, a significant increase from $2.5 billion prior to this funding round. The company is also reportedly in talks to raise an additional $1 billion.

On the same day, Meta's Muse, another AI assistant, introduced its outbound call feature, responding to user demand. Ryan Fox, a representative for Muse, noted that phone calling was among the top requests from users. In the first few days following its launch, Muse achieved 730,000 downloads in the U.S., while the Meta AI app garnered 707,000 downloads in the same timeframe, briefly reaching the No. 2 position in app charts.

This development follows a recent trend where both companies are enhancing their AI capabilities to meet user needs, as seen in Meta's previous updates to its AI scaling framework and the launch of Muse Spark. With these new features, practitioners can expect more robust AI interactions, particularly in service-oriented applications.
