Mistral launches Robostral Navigate, an 8B model for robotic navigation

Mistral has launched Robostral Navigate, an 8 billion parameter model designed for robotic navigation using only a single RGB camera. This model employs the CISPO method for reinforcement learning, enabling robots to navigate unknown environments effectively. Robostral Navigate achieved a performance score of 76.6 percent on the R2R-CE benchmark. This entry into the robotics market follows Mistral’s previous focus on proprietary models amid competition with OpenAI and Anthropic, as highlighted by CEO Mensch earlier this year.
