360 Develops AI Tools to Compete with Anthropic's Mythos for Cybersecurity

Zhou Hongyi, founder of the Chinese cybersecurity firm 360, announced the development of AI tools aimed at rivaling Anthropic’s Mythos, which has flagged 3,432 vulnerabilities. Zhou likened Mythos to ‘cyber nuclear weapons,’ emphasizing the need for China to establish its own strategic deterrent in AI security. He noted that Chinese models currently lag behind Western counterparts by 20 to 30 percent. This move reflects a broader trend in which Chinese firms are increasingly focused on enhancing their cybersecurity capabilities to address vulnerabilities and compete on a global scale, following previous concerns about the efficacy of domestic AI models.
